Reread lines 9-16 of In Memoriam, A.H. H. Analyze the poet’s philosophical assumptions and beliefs, and comparethem to your own observations and experiences. What is your evaluation of thepoet’s assumptions?
In lines 9-16 of In Memoriam, A. H. H., the Son of Godseems both human and divine. Man has control of his own will which connects tothe God’s will. Everyone has assumptionsand beliefs however it’s not eternal compare to the God’s. They can haveknowledge to their own assumptions and beliefs but can’t have knowledge of God.In my opinion, since I don’t believe the God, I don’t agree because people havetheir own different beliefs. Like in the poet said, for people who don’tbelieve the God, the God can’t judge values of person’s own beliefs. People’s assumptionsare for themselves, not for the God. For example, I volunteered at kindergarden because I love kids not because of the God.
