Observations as an American Traveling in South Korea

I’m currently in South Korea for a month, and a Korean friend introduced me to a site called Instiz. It’s given me insight into the culture here, especially the strong focus on appearance. Beauty standards in Korea feel incredibly high, with a lot of attention on achieving a particular "ideal look." From ads to social media, it seems people are encouraged to fit a specific mold, which can create a lot of pressure.

South Korea's beauty standards have fueled a strong cosmetic surgery culture, making many feel pressured to alter their appearance to fit in. This can undermine individuality and lead people to prioritize conformity over self-acceptance.

As an outsider, I hope to see more celebration of individuality and diversity in appearance, as Korea has so much more to offer beyond looks

That's fair enough to think like this way but you gotta know this is online community not a real world. The reality is different with online. The fact is we don't really care how people look like.. Anyway I hope you will have good memories in Korea 😊 wish all the best xx
