DC코믹스의 한국계 만화가 짐리

Jim Lee 한국이름 이용철 

태어난건 한국에서 태어나셨는데 미국으로 어릴적에 이민가셨습니다

부모님은 의사되길 원하셨는데 본인은 고등학교때부터 만화가되는게 꿈이었다고 합니다

그래서그런지 절충안으로 프린스턴대학교에서 심리학전공하시면서 미술선택전공으로

의학공부로인해서인지 그림들의 인체구도가 탄탄한편.

짐리의 화풍은 정교한 댓생과 특히 인물의

근육과 역동적인 묘사가 인상적이면서도 음영이 뚜렷한 느낌의 작화를 추구하시는듯.




원랜 마블에서계시다 나와서 이미지코믹스 →DC코믹스 순으로 이직하심

마블에서는 엑스맨시리즈의 부흥을 가져다준뒤 

만화가 저작권문제로 마블에서 나오시고 

현재는 미국에서 마블,DC코믹스 시장점유율 다음가는 이미지코믹스를 이때 설립하시는데 설립자 중 한사람이 짐리.

그러나 경영이어려워지면서 창작자간 충돌도 일어나고 해서 마블로 다시 돌아가셨다가 나중엔 짐리의

스튜디오인 와일드스톰이 DC코믹스로 인수되면서 DC로 들어가게되셨죠.

이후엔 여러 흥행작 (배트맨허쉬,슈퍼맨포 투모로우,올스타 배트맨 앤로빈) 들을 그려내시면서 공동발행인도 되시고 유명한 스토리작가인 제프존스등과 협업으로 저스티스리그 리부트도맡으셨습니다

(미국은 스토리작가와 작화가가 대부분 따로임)
