임파스토(Impasto) 기법은 물감을 두텁게 칠해서 최대한의 질감과 입체적인 효과를 나타내는 기법을 말한다. 건조 시 임패스토는 질감을 제공하며 페트는 캔버스 밖으로 튀어나와 보이게 된다.
